Discontinuing Support for Windows 7, 8 & Vista
On September 19, 2025, the Warface: Clutch team discontinued support for Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows Vista operating systems.
Reasons for ending support for legacy operating systems:
- Increased vulnerability: Older systems no longer receive updates, which makes them more susceptible to cyberattacks.
- Technological limitations: Outdated OS versions lack support for modern APIs and tools, hindering game development.
- Testing challenges: Ensuring new content and optimizations work on older systems becomes increasingly difficult.
- Low user percentage: The absolute minority of players still use these OS versions.
Benefits of upgrading to modern operating systems:
- Enhanced performance: Modern systems utilize PC resources more efficiently, reducing lag and increasing FPS.
- Access to new features: Future Warface: Clutch updates will be fully compatible only with Windows 10 and 11.
- Improved data security: Current OS versions offer better protection for accounts and devices.
We recommend that users who are still using Windows 7 or 8 upgrade to Windows 10 or 11. For those with licensed versions, the upgrade is free, and the instructions are available on Microsoft's official website.
