Turrets are equipable parts of a Mothership that fine-tune the way your Orbital support works in battle. They come in three categories: Support, Protection, and Attack – for healing, shielding, or dealing damage, respectively. You can equip each type of turret only if your Mothership has a correspondent slot for it.
Currently, turrets, unlike Motherships, cannot be upgraded.

• Support Turrets: Periodic Fix Station, Repair Blast Station, Durability Extender, Positive Energy Recuperator, Damage Enforce System;
• Protection Turrets: Aegis Self System, Aegis Blast System, Anti-Jamming Support, Lifesaver, Enhanced Aegis System, Defender System;
• Attack Turrets: Target Ray Cannon, Laser Blast Cannon, Gravity Amplifier, Lock-down Blast Cannon, Sonic Bomb Cannon.

You can obtain turrets in exchange for Upgrade Tokens in orbital support store or at Hank's Drifting Shipyard (ship icon at the top-left corner of the Hangar), and, of course, directly through offers in the in-game store.

NOTE: Unequipping the turret will destroy it – please be careful when choosing the turret setup for your favorite mothership. Destroyed turrets cannot be restored.
